Whistle chair
Semestral work during Erasmus study in Belgium. Whistle chair is a concept of children high chair for dining. Combination of cork, rounded shapes and the gentlecolours creates pleasant environment for the child. The name comes from the small details of the chair legs, reminding holes for whistle.
Materials: cork, casted aluminium
Cork provides clean space because of its abilities like antibacterial surface, non-absorbability and dustproof. With the combination of aluminium makes this chair part of recycle materials. Cork and aluminium can be reused many times because of their nature.
Height of the seat and support for legs are adjustable as needed. Removable middle board secures the child in the seating. Functionality is important for both the child and the parents. Therefore right sided surface is larger for parents to better feed their baby. Baby can be given to other activities in the front without disturbing a bowl of food on the side.
Illustration of interior: maximal high position
Max. high position is for preschool children and serve when dining with children for normally high dining table. Height adjustment seat and footrest are in direct depending on the height of the child. Min. high position serves like children work chair, it is designed for children 3 years old and younger schoolchildren.
Adjustability
Middle removable board.
From the bottom is atached by screw, only with hands.  From the top middle board is inserted into the milled out detailes in wood.
Support area for legs.
I choose here already existing trendy joint. Support area for legs is height adjustable as needed. Fixing is on the principle of compressed wood on construction thanks to fittings. Cuts and holes in surface are in angle which is helping to fix position during the force caused by legs.
The legs are attached to each other by steel bars. They have at the edges screws that are used to fix the legs together. This solution combines the stability and function of the height adjustment due to holes in aluminium legs.
Another detail of joints.
